    Matching. Hmm, I'm wondering ...

... on what criteria this will be based.

Will the "Not interested." and "More like this" apply to weigh all a job's properties or will the original query have an effect on this as well?

And wouldn't a ranking on several angles be more effective? E.g., "Does not match my skills.", "Bad description", "Only for local applicants" and the like.

Also, I would like to be able to dis a certain company altogether without changing the fact that I like to see software developer positions.

May be I could use my own tags? I could even imagine to highlight (key-) words in the job description and rank those.

Short, I would want to see more filters and less search.

And I'd love to have the ability to leave a comment on a job posting, moderated of course, e.g. just to ask for details or notify of supposed typos.

And all of the above probably apply to resumes as well since there really isn't much of a difference, is there?

And don't make me enter a fake US ZIP code upon registration unless this site if for the US only.

And thanks for making the effort.

    Hi UserGer,

"Not Interested" will definitely be involved in the weighting algorithm, but most likely "More Like This" will not.  Ranking will be based on the job seeker profile (which will launch with the personality matching on March 1). There are several other items that we will take into account from the job descriptions and resumes, tags (and highlighting of tags) being one that is definitely there.

Company blocking is an interesting suggestion, I'm not sure if we would want that because of missed opportunities. We might provide the ability to block your current employer.

Personal Tags are a great suggestions and is on our current feature list. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

We are working on an international solution for postal codes. Just out of curiosity, where are you located?

    Shane,

OK, with the company blocking I might have been a bit off, considering your source of revenue. Nevermind Smile.

Permission granted to look at my profile. I haven't set up the blog yet, although it's great to have one here.

I'm currently stuck located in GERmany, so I hold a work permission for most of Europe but not for other places.

Which brings me to the next point: if an employer doesn't have a relocation package and looks for local candidates only, no need to spam my search results. (This is different than me searching for a particular area because I cannot filter out regions.)

Speaking of searches. As much as I resent them (for I never know why a search for category "software engineering" comes up empty), it would be great if there was a "merge search" that would rank jobs by the number of searches they satisfy.

And while we talk about "satisfying certain conditions", are you planning on any kind of skill assessment tool? Maybe for a job description employers could provide appropriate questions and multiple choice answers for a discount.

    Personally, I'd find this tickling.
