How to say: I love finding and fixing bugs.

A resume should be focused and to the point.

It should include some (not too many) buzzwords to feed the search engines.

On the other hand, it should clearly indicate what makes you different from anybody else and how you in particular could contribute to the success of the hiring team (and its manager).

And this is where I get in trouble. I love writing software. But so does every other software developer or they wouldn't be one.

So I would like to add a phrase that conveyes that I (as far as I know) would stand out in my willingness to dig into memory dumps and old code and do "software forensics". Or that I do not need to excercise my individuality in how my code looks and behaves differently from everybody else's.

But how can I do that with a positive and progressive edge to it?

I would suggest including a summary section at the very beginning of your resume.  Usually, this is where most people put their "objective statement," but since employers want to understand what makes you different and why you are qualified (and not necessarily just what you want to do), a summary section is a great place to combine your expertise with your passion.  So that's where I'd put information that makes you stand out.  And then the rest of your resume can speak for itself with the facts, buzz words, etc.  Your summary statement could look something like this:

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (or the title of the role for which you are applying)

    • Experienced engineer with a talent and passion for software forensics, building upon the proven ability to identify and fix the most difficult bugs
    • Statement #2 explaining how your passion and expertise make you qualified and unique
    • Statement #3 explaining how your passion and expertise make you qualified and unique
